Webinar: Agroøkologi og matsuverenitet | Feb 4, 2026
Det kapitalistiske matsystemet vi har i dag fratar småbønder jord og fremmer megagårder i latinamerikanske land. Vi har vært på solidaritetsbrigade hos den største småbondebevegelsen i Colombia, og lært om hvordan de organiserer seg i kampen for sine territorier, sin rett til å produsere egen mat og for å bevare sin bondeidentitet. På brigade lærte vi også om hvorfor agroøkologi er helt nødvendig i kampen for matsuverenitet!
Stein driver Brubekken Garsdmeieri, et småbruk i Gjemnes på Nordmøre. På gården har Stein melkeproduksjon med ku og geit, og driver eget meieri og støl, Torbuvollen i Sunndal kommune. Her produserer han rømme, smør, kvit ost og brunost av all melka og selger den fra lokale torg og noen få butikker. I tillegg til å sitte i styret i WWOOF Norge er Stein leder for Internasjonalt Utvalg i Norsk Bonde- og Småbrukarlag. Han er også nylig innvalgt i koordineringskomiteen i ECVC (European Coordinating Comite of La Via Campesina), hvor han blant annet jobber med agroøkologi som han har forsøkt gjøre til merkevare på sitt eget gårdsbruk og produkter.

Are you curious about how agroecology, food sovereignty, and international solidarity are connected? This evening, we will hear two exciting introductions: first from activists in the Latin America Groups who have participated in a solidarity brigade in Colombia, followed by farmer Stein Brubæk, a board member of WWOOF Norway and head of the International Committee of the Norwegian Farmers and Smallholders Union.

The Latin America Groups’ solidarity brigades
The capitalist food system we have today deprives small-scale farmers of land and promotes mega-farms in Latin American countries. We have participated in a solidarity brigade with the largest smallholder movement in Colombia, where we learned how they organize in the struggle for their territories, their right to produce their own food, and to preserve their peasant identity. On the brigade, we also learned why agroecology is absolutely essential in the fight for food sovereignty!
Stein Brubæk, farmer
Stein runs Brubekken Farm Dairy, a small farm in Gjemnes on Nordmøre. On the farm, Stein produces milk from cows and goats and runs his own dairy and mountain pasture (støl), Torbuvollen, in Sunndal municipality. Here, he produces sour cream, butter, white cheese, and brown cheese from all the milk, which he sells at local markets and in a few select shops.
In addition to serving on the board of WWOOF Norway, Stein is the head of the International Committee of the Norwegian Farmers and Smallholders Union. He was also recently elected to the coordination committee of ECVC (European Coordinating Committee of La Via Campesina), where he works, among other things, on agroecology—something he has tried to make a hallmark of his own farm and products.
