International ecocide law expert Polly Higgins has taken the mission to make ecocide a crime into new territory that now enables everyone to take part. She has created an Earth Protectors Trust Fund which has been legally validated across the world, so that anyone can sign up regardless of age or location.
Funds gifted when signing go to support the practical expenses of small, climate vulnerable States taking ecocide law forward at the International Criminal Court. At the same time, the Trust Fund document can be used in court by activists resisting ecocide in their communities, as part of their defence – a defence of conscience.

In this way, the judiciary are increasingly alerted to the missing law, and the more Earth Protectors sign up the stronger the platform on which those conscientious protectors can stand.
